I am an artist, originally from Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales, and now living in a small village nestled in the hills of North Wales. In my own practise Iā€™m interested in the transient nature of life contained within image, the emotional imprint and the sense of infinity. In essence, my work is reflective of the organic shapes and curves found within nature, and their morphing physicality imposed by changes in light.

During my formative years, my father (who is also an artist) played an important role in opening my eyes to the potential in my surrounding environment. We regularly ventured out (in all weathers!) equipped with sketchbooks and drawing materials, and I was encouraged to record my perceptions, to question what was physically in front of us, and to respond emotionally and intuitively to my surroundings. It was a natural progression to continue this interest into a formal environment, and I undertook an Art & Design Foundation course at Cardiff Met., followed by a degree in Fine Art at Manchester Met. specialising in fine art printing.

After completing my degree, I undertook a Tate Fellowship at Tate Liverpool, dividing my time here with my work as a member of Cheshire Arts Advisory Team with the inspirational Senior Art Advisor and renowned painter David Firmstone. My work since spans from Curator of MAP at Tate Liverpool, lecturer at FE & HE colleges in England & Wales, to a variety of management positions, including Director of Visual & Performing Arts.

I am currently creating a series of visual narratives in response to culturally disparate locations, and also writing my first novel.
